Orientation Sessions

If you are interested in applying for membership in Cliffside Court Housing Co-operative, you must first attend one of our Orientation Sessions.  These sessions are designed for prospective applicants to learn more about our community, and co-operative principles, and we encourage the whole family to attend. Membership applications are distributed at the end of the session only, and the application process will be explained in full detail at the session.

Please note that we are only accepting applications for our 1 and 2 Bedroom waiting lists. We do have 3 bedroom units but the waiting list is CLOSED.

The following topics will be discussed at the Orientation Session:

  • How Co-operatives keep housing charges (rent) low by volunteer participation

  • You will learn about the various committees, such as Membership, Maintenance, By-laws, Landscaping, Board of Directors, etc.

  • You will learn about General Member Meetings, where members have direct input on major decisions that affect the Co-op such as housing charges, policies and by-laws, and approval of major projects

  • You will be able to see a vacant unit if one is available

  • You will have an opportunity to ask questions

    • We are located at 11 Delano Place which is off Ridgemoor Avenue, south of Kingston Road, west of Midland and east of Cliffside. If you are taking the TTC, take the Kingston Road 12 or 12B bus from either Victoria Park Station, or Kennedy Station.  If coming from Victoria Park Station (traveling east), ask the driver to let you off at Ridgemoor Avenue. If coming from Kennedy Station (traveling west), ask the driver to let you off at Sharpe Street (cross to the south side, which is Ridgemoor Avenue.  Walk south on Ridgemoor Avenue until you reach Delano Place.  The meetings are held in Building 11 (Buzzer Code #011).

    Orientations start promptly and are approximately an hour in length. Once the meeting starts, late comers will be asked to come to the next session.
